The most common problem situations teachers can encouter in the classroom and ways of dealing with them are suggested in this unit. The most common problem situations can be connected with the first lesson (in new group and in existing group), with the groups where the students are at different levels, with large classes, use of native language, with reluctant students, with difficulties of listening texts etc.
There are a number of activities teacher can use for the purposes of dealing with these problems. For instance, the activities at the first lesson can be questionnaire or survey, a game like 'Tell us about', a ball game or Needs analysis; typical warmer ideas include: hangman, pictionary, tongue twisters, memory games etc.
