This unit discussed the past tense as a whole. It addressed the simple past tense, the past tense continuous, the past perfect tense, and the past perfect continuous. It clearly laid out each rule in a coherent manner that established them more clearly for me as a native English speaker who does not often think of the exact rules when I speak. I learned the actual terms for different grammatical tenses, which was helpful because I never think of the tenses in those terms, neither do I think of them in certain categories bound by rules. This unit did a good job of establishing a coherent timeline in my mind with respect to the past tense. More clearly, I can now envision when and why we use the tenses and verb structures that we do.
