This unit discussed how to evaluate student progress and why it is necessary. It also discussed the various types of testing that is done in a language school. It discussed the difference in each of the different types of test. It then discussed the different very popular external examinations, such the TOEIC and Cambridge ESOL test. It was a relatively brief lesson.In this unit we were introduced to the various positives and negatives of drawing up a lesson plan, as well as given an idea of what we, as new teachers, should aim for in order to improve. Likewise we were given tips on how create an effective lesson plan, as well as cautioned about some of the associated problems we might encounter, for example lack of flexibility.
