The unit is about past simple tenses, past continuous tenses, past perfect tenses and past perfect continuous tense. It is a critical unit because apart from informing how to construct grammatically correct past tense sentences, it also points out the kind of error I should expect from my students, and hence I can address these areas as I teach to minimise the changes of my students making this errorIn this unit we discussed the pros and cons and usage of course books in lesson planning. We discuss how course book material can provide a tried and true syllabus, but can also trap the teacher into strict teaching material. It can also be quite boring for learners to read from a text book, rather than use authentic materials which are typically more interesting and can induce confidence in learners.
