Teaching special groups can require the teacher to have a clear idea on what is going to suit a special group. I work with adult prisoners who may have some learning & life skills but we deal with these students in a different way to young students. We give clear directions, use group work, engage the students to ask questions, make visual presentations and most of all try to control language that is unacceptable.There are different test in a language school, each serves a different purpose. There are progress test to detect student's progress, diagnostic test given in the begining of the class to see how much the student know and help teacher to prepare class, practice test for students who want to take external exam. There are a lot a different external exams too. We should have a general idea what exams are for what.
