Teachers give different type of tests to measure the level of English of their students. Placement tests and diagnostic tests are used to determine the level of English a student has before starting a program. Once the teacher has the result, the student can be placed in a correct level. It also provides important information for lesson plans. The progress tests are useful to get information about the progress of the student and future lesson plans during the program. There are also practice tests used for external examinations as TOEFL, IELTS and TOEIC. Other external examinations related to the Cambridge Assessment are linked to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Those are KET, PET, FCE, among others.
