This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Unit 18 outlines the modal auxiliary verbs and the varying levels of politeness, necessity, and certainty they imply. Secondly we learnt to differentiate passive/active voices and the various auxiliary verbs and tenses that are used in conjunction with them. Defining and non-defining relative clauses we also covered and finally three types of phrasal verbs were introduced: intransitive, transitive separable, and transitive inseparable. In my personal experience, that's one of the most complex topics that could be taught to students. I still don't completely understand the necessity of teaching phonemes, especially now when the pronunciation of the word could be easily checked on the internet/with a teacher online, any other option. The unit introduces the system of symbols that I know but find extremely confusing, especially when explaining its necessity to students.
