I really enjoy the part that encourages teachers to make and use their own material for classwork. I think that over using textbooks can become extremely boring for students and in some cases stagnate interest. I have also found that textbooks lack the ability to predict what students will have problems with and therefore teachers most certainly need to supplement with their own material.This new unit deals with course books and different kind of materials that can be used by the English teacher during his class. Although it is very interesting, I think in some situation, teacher can decided about which materials to use because of the educational structure he will belong to. I agree that the use of both authentic and creative materials are benefic to the input of student.
