Pronunciation is part of teaching. This can be taught by modelling, showing pictures and explaining placement of tongue in mouth. The stress on words can alter meaning so needs to be discussed in lessons. Stress is on syllables not individual vowels or consonants. Native speakers tend to link sounds and words. This is part of learning the native language and sounding natural.This final unit offered some particularly helpful and useful information in regards to a lot of issues that I worry about as a beginning teacher. Particularly the sections beginning the first lesson with a class and the section about large classes are two of my biggest concerns as a future teacher. I will be sure to keep these do's and don't's in mind when I begin teaching.
