Unit 13 focuses on teaching pronunciation/phonology. There's a definition, discussion on intonation, techniques for indicating/teaching intonation, stress, lack of stress, techniques for indication/teaching stress (contrastive, gesture, choral work, chalkboard, stress marks). Sound joining, linked speech, phonemic alphabet, phonemic symbols, articulation/manner of, and teaching techniques for individual sounds are also noted.I can see how this would apply to all levels of study of a language, knowing the context and variables of vocabulary and grammar, as well as the ever changing functions of usage, reminds me of how many times my drilling myself on vocabulary wasn't enough to completely lose myself into a new format of language. Conjugation, tenses, sentence structures, all these thing are thrown into play when using vocabulary that I know well.
