This unit emphasizes the importance of pronunciation. Although often neglected, it should be taught as it helps students speak better. Stress, rhythm and intonation can actually change the meaning of a sentence. By learning the phonemic symbols, one could learn how to pronounce properly. Pronunciation can be taught as a whole lesson, in parts of every lesson, or when the teacher feels that it is required.This unit had a lot of useful information. It was very dense to go through, but I appreciated reading through all the details. I greatly enjoyed reading through these passages. I hope that I can use these resources in my own classes. The sections and differences between the phrasal verbs, were a little challenging for me. I think I will have to read over this section again sometime soon in the near future.
