This was a very eye-opening unit. Watching the first video was genuinely uncomfortable. The teacher was purposefully doing so many things wrong and it made a big impact on my perception of the teachers ability to influence the outcome of a lesson. When comparing the two videos it was so obvious that a friendly teacher with a creative lesson plan makes such a huge difference in leaner outcome.This unit explained how to use and construct conditionals clauses, and the proper tense changes that occur when using direct speech becomes indirect speech. There are 5 different types of conditionals: zero, first, second, third and mixed. Indirect speech is common in news broadcasts. It also suggested methods of teaching with exercises like chaining conditionals and complete the conditional.
