This unit helped me understand the importance of testing and the different types of tests, all of which are designed to properly place students based on their skills-level and experience with the language. Testing results will assist the teacher in the design of a road map which will help insure student engagement, progress, and success. Otherwise, students may become frustrated and give up.Unit three gives a nice overview of different teaching methods, before explaining why the ESA methodology is chosen for this course. Afterwards a thorough explanation and description of the ESA methodology follows, including a lot of good examples of activities that can be used in the various phases.
I feel this unit has given me a good understanding of the ESA methodology and how to use it.
