This unit is an important part of any course created for preparing to become an educator. The information that is given is in fact obvious and common sense in many ways, but to use it in practice may be difficult. There are also information that I clearly did not think was relevant or correct. For example, I did not know that the age and nationality of students were important factors in seating arrangements of the class.From this unit I have learned the importance of classroom management. I have learned eye contact, gestures, and the voice are vital tools to establish good rapport, add visual interest, and make my explanations understandable to all students in the class. I have also learned how to use grouping, classroom arrangement, board writing and teacher talk time to effectively run the classroom while keeping the students engaged.
