This unit on past tenses allowed a subsequent correlation between past and present tenses to be made. This was based on the similarity between the form utilised when comparing simple, continuous, perfect and perfect continuous in a present or past tense. The knowledge gained from this unit needs to be aligned with knowledge gained in the \"present tense\" unit 4 to fully put both units in there true language perspective.This unit helped me appreciate why sometimes students don't understand a topic you think you have done well - its important t structure the topic in away that appeals to them. Their interest is paramount. I also valued the aspect about receptive skills and what factors determine reception like examinations, the need to get directions (purpose) and enjoyment (soccer) . i found this unit very captivating to say the least!
