In this unit, I learned what ALTE means. I also learned the importance of testing and examinations to place students and measure their progress. Testing also helps to develop the course so that the students' needs are met. Overall, unit 3 was a bit more challenging than the previous units. It took me longer to find the answers than it usually does. I chose most answers through a process of elimination.I learned that the first class is very important for teachers. They have to set the tone for the rest of the course. It is not wise to use the course book during the first class. The following activities are more suitable: establish rapport between students, establish rapport between the teacher and the class, find out about the students, their needs and motivation, find out about their English level.
