This unit covered the various kinds of examinations as well as ways in which a teacher can evaluate students prior to and during the course. In regards to examinations, the reading discussed the more well-known external examinations such as TOEFL, IELTS, and the Cambridge Assessment Examinations, as well as the kinds of tests that a teacher or school can give to evaluate students, which include placement, diagnostic, progress, and practice examinations.
In addition to all of this, the reading also elaborated upon the importance of evaluating student progress along with the different ways of doing so. These include progress examinations, tutorials,and open discussions where students can openly discuss any problems which they may have.
