In this unit, I learned about classroom management. I don't believe that a teacher has to be a commanding presence, as long as the teacher gives clear and concise instruction. The teacher can be seen more as a peer, albeit one that is very knowledgeable, like the consistently intelligent friend we admire. As a teacher, I hope my students view me as a resource first and foremost, therefore, they will try their hardest to learn from me and interact with me in a productive way. It does not make sense to alienate yourself from the teacher when they are there to help you learn. Therefore, I hope discipline is not an issue, but I really connected to the idea of stating the error with a student's behavior and not with the student as a person.
