Teaching English as a second language can indeed be a challenge if students don't understand topics/vocabularies . This chapter gave me some ideas of how to achieve listening and reading skills while teaching my students. In fact, I was happy to read about the importance of knowing the students in order to choose the right materials; materials that will be interesting for all the students (not necessarily at the same time). Anyway, although it would be easier to adopt an English book and than go chapter by chapter, I adopted, as part of my teaching practice the habit of researching and the providing materials that are related with the natural interest of my students. Obviously I do relay on the internet as a source of wonderful materials.
