This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Unit 5 Managing classes touched on different topics to help the teacher more effectively manage their classroom. I've been teaching young learners for several years and found it nice to have several things I do in the classroom reinforced in the text. I particularly have found tone of voice and eye contact very useful in teaching young learners also breaking down directions into single steps. This unit teaches how to teach speaking and writing skills, which are known as productive skills. I learned that accuracy and fluency are equally important skills when learning English. I also learned that three by three drilling is the most effective method for drill practice. It gives students enough of a chance to hear the correct pronunciation but isn't too repetitive that they get bored.
