This unit talks about EFL theories, methods and techniques. Mentioned methodologies include Grammar-translation, Audio-ligualism, Presentation, Practice and Production (PPP), Task-Based Learning, Communicative Language Teaching, Community Language Learning, The Silent Way, Suggestopaedia and The Lexical approach. However, the main focus is on the ESA method (Engage, Study and Activate), as these are the main stages of a lesson. During the Engage stage you as a teacher want to ensure that the student speaks some English and warms up, in the Study stage you are expected to teach the main language points to the students and in the Activate stage you try to encourage your students to be creative with their English knowledge and create some content.
