This Unit gives a various information about phonology and phonetics. These areas of language often neglected by teachers. There are several areas that can be taught: intonation, rhythm, articulation, stress and phonemic alphabet.
Phonemic alphabet is the Universal for any English language system of sound symbols which includes 44 sounds. Each symbol represents only one sound and can be spelled by a combination of different letters. It is useful because the written English is often archaic and very confusing.
There is few option of how to teach pronunciation: dedicate entire class, a certain section of each class or work on it when the problem arises. There is no right or wrong way, it all depends on the teacher and particular group of students.
