This unit was about productive skills, writing and speaking and how to teach them to students. It explained that although writing and speaking are both very different they are both ways in which people communicate with each other for a reason, they have some communicative purpose, the person wants to say something, the person wants to listen to something or the person is interested in what is being said. The unit then broke down each skill separately and looked at the parts of the skill when teaching to non English students. Speaking; accuracy and fluency and Writing; spelling, handwriting, punctuation and layout and creative writing. From this unit I have learnt the importance of teaching these two productive skills and games in which to do this.
