This unit talked about what to do when you are first meeting a class. It also talked about some difficulties that teachers can have from students not speaking in English in the class, and then gave pointers on how to help the students remain in English. Being able to discuss about the first day when meeting with students was a nice thing to do to be able to help set up a good class atmosphere for the duration that a teacher will be teaching a class. Without knowing how to properly have a first class, a teacher could impact the atmosphere of the entire class for a very long time in negative ways. Learning of activities discussed in this unit to build rapport with the students so as to have good classroom culture and rapport was beneficial to study.
