Watching the videos in this unit was a useful experience to see the material I have learned about in action, and also to see the difference the teacher's attitude can have on the class. Whilst watching the first video, I found myself thinking about what I would do differently. For example, praising the students, asking them questions to elicit vocabulary instead of writing it for them, and having less teacher talk time. It also showed me how the way you interact with students can affect their enjoyment of the class and how involved they become. In my own classes, I want to make sure I retain a calm, friendly demeanor and do my best to explain activities well to prevent students from becoming disengaged and confused like they were in the first video.
