I learned about the important criteria for introducing vocabulary, new grammatical structures, and new language functions. I learned what students need to know about a new word, such as its meaning, use, and spelling, as well as what helps a teacher determine which words to select, such as its appropriacy and frequency of use. Finally, I studied examples of how to structure a lesson when introducing new vocabulary, grammatical structures, or language functions.
