This unit is about Teaching Pronunciation and Phonology: two often overlooked parts of the English language. Intonation and Stress are introduced and described, as well as International Phonetic Alphabet. This part was especially helpful for me as I find it difficult to teach my students how to pronounce specific sounds, especially L and R. The diagrams presented of the mouth and the descriptions of the different parts of the mouth used and the instructions on how to pronounce each sound of the IPA were incredibly helpful in order to gain the necessary understanding to assist students with improving their pronunciation. Teaching techniques and articulation were also included in the latter part of the unit and were incredibly helpful, yet challenging.
