For this unit, I think the most useful section was the multiply-pronged approaches to teaching vocabulary or grammatical structures. I think the flexible way in which the unit approaches such a topic testifies to how diverse each classroom will be and how the teacher needs to be flexible enough to discern the classroom’s needs and then implement the lesson plans needed in order to most effectively teach grammar or vocabulary. As someone who learned Spanish in the classroom as a foreign language, I recognize many of these Engage, Study, Activate lesson plans from my own personal experience. Some of the lesson plans do seem a bit overwhelming but I am thankful for the models as I adjust them accordingly to whatever classroom I will be teaching in.
