In this lesson I learned course books and lesson materials. Course books are the most emotive issue for many teachers. Some teachers despise it but others love it. The materials to be used other than course books are authentic materials : magazines, news, songs and poems. Created materials are role play, crossword, word search puzzle, gap fill exercise and picture stories. Course books usually consist of materials: students's book, workbook, teacher's book and cassette. There are advantages of course books; it provides balance mix of grammar, vocabulary and skills work and it offers continuity and progression. But there are disadvantages of course books ; the students might not like the book and be reluctant to use it and dictate what is to be taught.
