In this unit, I have learned the different roles of a teacher as well as the differences between adult and young learners. I have gained knowledge on the six levels of the common European framework of language, and can now asses a student’s skill level correctly and accurately. I feel that I am more capable of understanding how to keep a class of students involved and motivated after taking this unit. I now know that taking part in lessons as a participant as well as prompting the students to use English in an encouraging manner is both effective and interesting for young learners. I have also learned that fun activities, as well as being a native English language model, will help students feel comfortable applying and using their English skills.
