I remember my lessons in French and Spanish class, and the course book is VERY integral to how I feel about what I learned overall. I think for some students the visual aspects of learning are more important than the interactive, especially if they are shy in normal life or simply like to read and look at books. I personally would wonder about the publisher, but the more important things are price, readability, accessibility to students, relevancy and so forth. There are a lot of really great games proposed in this text that inspire me to really bring the language alive for the students. I think it is really important in my development as a teacher to be aware of the impact pictures, role-plays, crosswords, and other exercises can have on ESL learners.
