This unit focuses on the system and structure of past tenses. Very similar to present tense, some of the same rules apply but instead reference things in the past time period.
Past simple - Typical example includes a verb that ends in -ed, and used for actions completed at a specific time in the past.
Past continuous - Typical example includes a verb ending in -ing and also contains was/were, used to describe actions that interrupt another past action.
Past perfect - Typical example includes had/hadn't, used to describe an a completed action in the past.
Past perfect continuous - Typical example includes a verb that ends in -ing, and also contains had + been. Used to talk about continuous actions that had been going on till the referenced past moment.
