This unit examines the qualities necessary to being a good teacher, ranging from traits regarding the teacher’s personality to his/her relationship with the students. Simply put, the only thing a teacher should care more about than his/her teaching is the learning of the students. The unit also considers the important qualities of a good learner, which the teacher is expected to facilitate, including listening, not being afraid to ask questions, taking risks, accepting their errors and, most importantly, wanting to learn. My favorite lesson I have learned from this unit is to be aware that not all kids are the same, and depending on what culture they are and how old, the teacher must act accordingly and cater to each student’s individual needs.
