This unit covered the topic of teaching pronunciation and phonology to non-native English learners - with sections on intonation, stress, and articulation, along with an introduction to the International Phonemic Alphabet (IPA) and a video featuring a demonstration lesson in which the phonemic alphabet is introduced to a Thai English class. As the introduction to the unit stated, many English teachers find pronunciation to be a complicated and difficult subject to teach, and in keeping with this, I found this unit to be one of the most difficult so far. However, after studying the materials thoroughly, I feel that I now have a more functional understanding of the various components of English pronunciation and how to begin teaching them in the classroom.
