Unit 7 is about the importance of the four basic skills of language most specifically, Reading and Listening which are the Receptive skills. Reading and Listening are divided into category which are for purpose and for entertainment. How students read and listen will determine their level of understanding of the lesson. However, teachers must introduce to the proper techniques of Listening and Reading such as learning on how to predict, scan, skim, to get detailed information and to deduce from context. I have learned from this unit that there are many problems in teaching and learning Receptive Skills that a teacher needs to deal with. Furthermore students should be motivated well in order for them to have confidence and gain interest with the language.
