There are many teaching aids a teacher can use to engage students and present or supplement lesson material. A teacher should be familiar with any teaching equipment he or she plans on using. It would also be wise to make sure the institution allows the particular equipment or aid you wish to employ. The old standbys like the white/black board, cassette recorder and dictionary are quite useful and often entirely necessary. I also really like to experiment with CALL options when appropriate. I've found youtube to be incredibly helpful in the classroom considering the immense library of videos the site offers. It's also a fun way to lighten the atmosphere at times. Online resoures and dictionaries are also great because of the ease of access to information.
