I feel that this unit was very valuable. It made me realize that as English speakers we don't really think about why we use grammar. Our grammar usage comes naturally and is second nature to us. I teach English primarily to younger children but this unit made me realize how important it is to be aware of grammar especially if we work with an older age group. This unit taught me new things about grammar I had not previously thought about. Parts of speech can be classified based on their purpose and the meaning they add. Some things that I learned in this unit that were eye opening included: transitive/intransitive verbs, auxiliary verbs, adjective order, etc. I found this unit to be very helpful and I believe I will keep referring to it as I teach English.
