This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Unit 11 was all about teaching receptive skills. In this unit I learned that the two receptive skills are reading and listening. Both skills are equally important and both skills should be incorporated in lesson plans to make sure that each lesson is well rounded. I really enjoyed reading about the different specialist skills that people use when reading and listening. I scan and skim texts all the time, but have never really thought of these actions as being \"skills.\" I also thought it was really great that Unit 11 talked about the importance of choosing texts and audios that cover a wide variety of topics so that students stay motivated and interested. This is something that I think is essential when teaching both receptive and productive skills.
