Unit 18 covers modals, phrasal verbs and passive voice in the notes and video. I believe that the is important to teach young learners because it can be used to show interest in a person or object. Modal auxiliaries were something that I wasn't very informed about, so after this unit, I have hopefully expanded my knowledge in that area. I believe that is important to teach modal because form tenses can alter the meaning of a sentence. If the students don't understand modal it could cause them to misinterpret a sentence. There is also the fact that many native English speakers unconsciously use passive voice and modal auxiliaries in their sentence structure so it is important for the learner to understand how passive voice function in a sentence structure.
