In this unit i learned about the productive skills- speaking and writing. In a speaking activity both fluency and accuracy have a lot of importance and each of them can be included in different parts of the lesson. For example the teacher can use drilling and prompting in accuracy based activities in this case the activity is controlled by the teacher. Guided activities such as model dialogues and role-plays can also be used to improve accuracy. Activities like discussions, simulations, communication games etc can be used to improve fluency. A number of different factors need to be considered If the teacher wishes to help students with their writing skills. In this case spelling, punctuations, handwriting and creative writing all carry a lot of importance.
