This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
In this unit I learn about the different teaching styles, types of learners, what makes a good learner and what makes a good teacher. I also learnt that there has been more emphasis on student-centered lessons as opposed to teacher centered, and that it is up to the teacher to ensure students posses the traits of a good learner. It was interesting to also discover the different age categories of learners, and understand their approaches to learning. For example, I didn't know previously that pre-puberty learners were receptive to new sounds, words and grammar. It was also important for me to know that the speed at which a teacher teaches lessons to students really should be determined by the level of the students. I feel this is important to always consider.
