In this unit I have learnt about different types of tests (placement tests, diagnostic tests, progress tests, practice tests, external examinations) and their purposes. I have also learnt about at what stage of a course these tests can be used (e.g., placement tests before the beginning of the course, progress tests during the course etc.). I believe this knowledge will help me better plan my future courses and evaluate my students.The main idea of this unit is about books and materials that a teacher can use for classes. For many students, compared to the course book, materials created by the teacher are more interesting and more relevant. This materials can be divided for two groups:authentic materials and created materials. The teacher can create his/her own materials to either supplement the course book, or replace sections that are not suitable for class.
