This unit gives a rather pointless description of what students need to learn about a language like vocabulary, grammar and the function of the language. The unit stresses the importance of understanding the meaning, use, spelling etc. of the language and gives examples for every stage of an ESA lesson which are either shortlisted or explained in further detail in a model lesson.This unit talks about teaching receptive skills. This is something I take for granted and that is the skills involved in language. Reading and listening are receptive skills that need to be trained carefully so to not lose the focus of the lesson and interest of the students. I am use to the Productive skills of speaking and writing and find that as equal as the receptive skills.
