This was the shortest unit in the whole course. This was a good material for either the first or last unit of the course. It gave us a brief overview of what to expect at the start of teaching a class, and how to deal with different variables such as class sizes, different English language levels, reluctant students, etc. This unit is a good baseline to know how to start a course, and how to organize a first class or two.This lesson helped me understand the modal auxiliary verbs, its usage along with the activity ideas that can make the lesson interesting to the students. The examples provided on page 4 of the unit provides clarity on how the use of modal verbs can change the meaning of the main verb.
It also provides a detailed understanding on the passive voice and its usage and an overview on the relative clauses and the phrasal verbs.
