In this unit I learned about both conditional and reported speech. Conditional speech consist of five sections, each with its own usage ranging from irrefutable facts to hypothetical actions that are unlikely to happen. Reported speech consist of using proper tenses o changing direct speech into indirect speech. I think that these are important things to understand in order to effectively teach non native English speakers.The teacher's attitude has a big impact on student participation as well success of the lesson. A pleasant and inviting teacher will encourage students to participate. Taking the time and effort to learn students names is another important factor in motivating students to engage in class activities. Presenting new concepts in a manner students can understand is also an important consideration while teaching a ESL class.
