this unit explains the structure of a lesson plan and why it is important, not only to use the day it is taught, but also as a record for other teachers and as a record of past lessons. it helps organize the activities in a logical progression and reflects what items you will need to have when teaching. It also reminds the teacher to think about other ways to handle any problems that may have occurred.The methods for teaching vocabulary are quite interesting and, having never taught, completely new to me. I do somewhat disagree with one part which is that students do not need to know the origin of certain vocabulary words. While not necessary for younger students, more advanced and mature students might appreciate the history behind certain terms and may aid in the learning and memorization process.
