I thought this was an important topic. Coursebooks are used often in language or other courses. However, they do have their drawbacks. Most notably, they are not tailored designed to the needs of each nationality or specific needs of the class. Hence, they operate on a one size fits all scheme. Supplementing course work material and developing original material are hall marks of an effective teacher.Unit 16 turned back to the subject of English grammar and took a close look at the different forms of conditional sentences and how to teach them effectively in the classroom. It introduced five main conditionals and provided few examples for each of them. The unit also covered the differences between direct and reported speech and what changes should we make when turning direct speech to indirect one.
