The four forms of the past tenses take a good amount of time to understand and even more study and memorization to correctly teach. The past simple of irregular verbs will simply have to be memorized by students. Key to success will be the ability to convey differences like an action completed before another past action; an action in progress at a past time; a completed past action, and so on.Unit 12 focused on teaching productive skills such as speaking and writing. It was noted that several teachers tend to avoid writing in class and give written assignments as homework. They do this because they do not like the silence in the classroom. The lesson gave an example of a writing and speaking lesson. This was very helpful as I can see myself making this mistake in the classroom.
