This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
I found within this unit that the subdivisions within the 'beginner' label (i.e. the absolute, the false, the adult, etc) to be extremely useful for both lesson planning and identifying prospective student needs, because each of these labels provide more direction than just 'beginner'. Just as there are many times of students, it makes sense that there will be many times of beginners as well, each with their own needs. I further found the point of not using children's native language to put them at ease when teaching, new and informative. I had previous not thought of how, in some instance using their native language will take away the motivation for them to try and speak in English, and thus found that extremely useful to take into account in future lessons.
