This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
I see now how important this stage of learning can be, and find it difficult even in my own learning. One thing I have done to increase output of English is to give my students many options about what to write about, what to read, what to discuss. I really want them to be engaged in the learning, and to do so they need to want to know something about the subject/have something to offer as far as information on the topic. I think a great idea is to activate their own stories/memories/dreams on the subject after having introduced some new vocabulary and provided them with examples of my own. I hadn't really considered penmanship as an important part, but I see now that if a person is moving to the US it would be a very important aspect to consider teaching them.
